Welcome 2014-15!
Hi Everyone!
I hope you are all excited to start the school year and begin our journey into the study of Calculus. As you will see shortly, the applications of calculus are limitless (literally) and the underlying theories we will be exposed to are quite elegant.
This course is the equivalent of Calculus I and Calculus II at most undergraduate universities and colleges. That's right, we are a two semester college-level mathematics course. That means we get to study some very exciting mathematics! There will be days you leave class thinking, "wow, that's pretty cool!" and other days thinking, "what in the world is going on?" I will be blunt, this course is challenging and will demand that you put in time and work outside of the classroom - perhaps more than you ever have before. That said, I'm sure you will find the experience quite rewarding just as past students have.
Please bring all necessary items to class on Tuesday (completed summer work for turn-in, pencils, notebook, textbook, graphing calculator) as we will dive right into the course content, picking up with the study of limits. Prior to Tuesday, you will find it helpful to browse the course folder on the BPS website. There is a calendar for September already posted, as well as some friendly advice from a few of last year's students. There are also several links under the "calculus" tab on the right side of the page. One such link is to the College Board website, where you can find a specific course outline for BC Calculus.
I am excited to begin our journey into calculus in a few days! I look forward to seeing you all then!

2014 SUMMER PACKET
Use this forum to post questions and discuss solutions regarding the summer packet. Look to offer help to those who ask and post your questions when you have them. There is only one rule on this forum: ALWAYS RESPECT EACH OTHER! You can also refer to the discussions from previous summer work packets - just scroll down.
Some reminders: 1. the packet is due the first day of class (9/2/14) for a significant grade, 2. your original work should be on separate paper and done without a calculator except when specified, 3. solutions (without work) are posted in the course folder online, 4. the list of helpful links is also posted in the course folder.
